Fall 2020 Update

Hello PONY Families and Players,

We hope you are all doing well and the school year is off to a good start. We are thinking about all of you and the PONY community as we continue to navigate through this situation and wishing you all the best.

The City of Santa Barbara is allowing the PONY league to use the fields at MacKenzie Park for registered PONY baseball players to practice. The league has reviewed the several restrictions and guidelines to support this practice opportunity, and has decided to move forward carefully and cautiously for the safety of all participants.

Some of the City guidelines and restrictions are as follows:

- One group of players per field

- Limit 10 players per field

- 6ft. social distancing

In addition, the PONY league has implemented the following precautions for the safety of players, families, and coaches.

- Required player registration with the PONY league

- Signed player participation COVID-19 waiver

- Self-screening completed prior to practice

- Player check-in for each practice

- Temperature check for each practice

*Please note that all PONY practices must be planned and scheduled with the PONY league. The PONY league will then schedule the MacKenzie Park field use with the City. Only MacKenzie Park is currently open for these limited practices.

The PONY league is offering this fall practice opportunity to PONY players registered in the Spring 2020 season. With the current restrictions, the PONY league registration is limited. Volunteer coaches are needed to organize and manage practice groups.

The fall practices are offered free of charge to PONY players registered during the Spring 2020 season. When registering and if asked to pay, please do not pay the registration fee.

The PONY league registration link is here: http://www.santabarbaraponybaseball.com/

The PONY league is accepting donations to support the league, and appreciates the assistance.

We are excited and thankful to offer this opportunity for players to again play baseball this fall, and look forward to seeing you!

Thank you,
